A história do Museu do Automóvel inicia em 1968, quando um grupo de entusiastas por automóveis antigos, fundou o Clube de Automóveis e Antiguidades Mecânicas do Paraná – CAAMP, com o intuito de reunir os colecionadores e entusiastas dos automóveis antigos para preservar a memória da indústria automotiva.

Após oito anos de atividade do Clube, foi fundado em 1976 o Museu do Automóvel, com o objetivo de reunir o acervo dos associados para expor ao público. São mais de 150 veículos pertencentes aos sócios do CAAMP, constantemente alternados nas 80 vagas do Museu e divididos nas categoria antique, vintage, milestones e classic.

O Museu fica localizado dentro do Parque Barigui e abre de terça à sexta das 13h30 às 16h45. Sábados, domingos e feriados, das 10h00 às 11h45 e das 13h30 às 17h45. Os ingressos custam R$ 5,00 e são adquiridos no local.
